The Financial Crimes Advisory (“FCA”) Senior Analytics Consultant will have the opportunity to work on multiple FCA engagements across a wide variety of clients. The FCA client base includes banks of all sizes, credit unions, money service businesses, FinTech companies, wealth management firms, jewelry stores, Cryptocurrency entities, and more.

The FCA team is a full-service Advisory practice, helping clients improve their Financial Crimes programs to meet Anti-Money Laundering (“AML” / Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) requirements. This role will work on engagements that include supporting clients in addressing many of the following needs:

  • Interpreting data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports to support Business Analysts.
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and “clean” data by implementing Python and SQL Scripts.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Performing data quality checks (i.e., completeness, accuracy) using SQL/Python
  • Report writing
  • Creation and maintenance of data workbooks

In addition to the aforementioned, Senior Analytics Consultants must be capable of the following:

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise in AML / BSA / OFAC and counter terrorist finance
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative, research, analytical, and report writing support to client engagements
  • Draft memorandums, request lists, and other types of client correspondence
  • Develop quantitative analytics in support of BSA/AML system tuning efforts
  • Interpret and replicate BSA/AML System Alert Parameters
  • Conduct BSA/AML & OFAC Risk Assessments to include institution-based customer, geographic, product and services analytical summaries
  • Perform AML System Validations between Core Banking systems and AML Systems
  • Complete automated data mining and parsing utilizing data extracted from various core processors at financial institutions
  • The employee shall review and adhere to the terms of all firm policies during employment and applicable policy terms after employment ends. The employee shall review, sign and adhere to all company acknowledgments including, but not limited to:
    • Confidentiality and Security Acknowledgment Form
    • Confidentiality Policy
    • Company Communications & Social Media Acknowledgement Form
    • Employee Policies Acknowledgment Form
    • Non-Disclosure Agreement
Required Qualifications:Successful candidates will possess a blend of the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field
  • Three to Five years of financial crimes related experience (e.g.; anti-money laundering, fraud, economic sanctions, anti-corruption and bribery). Experience may qualify from government, industry, and/or consulting.
  • Financial crime experience must be derived from at least one of the following:
    • Industry with exposure to both programmatic and operational responsibilities above and beyond AML Investigations;
    • Government exposure to policy development, intelligence or criminal investigative activities;
    • Consulting with exposure to advisory specific work; production oriented contract work is not considered applicable.
  • Skill, interest and aptitude for organizing and analyze large data sets.  Experience with statistical analysis and drawing insights from data, such as system threshold settings
  • Technical knowledge regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Experience with AML/BSA model management, including quantitative testing (above-the-line, below-the-line) and model validations.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (MS Excel, Python, SQL Server)
  • Adept at writing queries and stored procedures in Transact-SQL (T-SQL) for SQL Server (version 2012 or later preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (version 2013 or later preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong work ethic and adaptable to a variety of work environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intellectual curiosity, with a desire and ability to solve complex problems for our clients
  • Confidence in ability to operate in a fast-paced client delivery environment, with focus on high quality work product and compelling deliverables

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Accounting, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field.
  • Experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques.
