AML RightSource January Employee Spotlight: Meet Sabeen Baakza, J.D., Senior Associate from our Financial Crimes Advisory practice! Sabeen joined AML RightSource in 2016 and works in our Phoenix office.
Sabeen works in our Phoenix office and maintains many years of industry experience and subject matter expertise in complex financial crimes matters. Sabeen is committed to educating professionals about the evolving compliance sphere, accomplished through consistent publications of thought leadership articles on specialized issues. Sabeen is considerably knowledgeable in an array of national and global BSA/AML laws and regulations.
Sabeen joined the firm in 2016 as a Senior Associate and has been focused primarily on assisting clients with the development and enhancement of institutional policies, procedures, and programs. Specifically, Sabeen's diversified client engagements include the development of BSA/AML strategic methodologies, enterprise-wide risk assessments, transaction monitoring strategies (tuning and optimization), management reporting operational dashboards, corrective action plans, statistical analysis on lookbacks, and human capital frameworks. Sabeen has also designed institutions' comprehensive BSA/AML programs in their entirety.
Sabeen enjoys reading and learning about theoretical, particle, and astrophysics; documentaries; French and other foreign cinema; barre and pilates; Monet; museums; and loads of coffee. As a UM Alumnus, Sabeen loves Michigan football and reading about her alma mater's scientific research initiatives. On the weekends you can find Sabeen either on top of some mountain in AZ or cultivating her introverted self.
